Mini Turkey Cupcakes

With Thanksgiving only days away and Christmas wreaths and lights slowly suffocating the turkeys and cornucopia of Thanksgiving I wanted to take a moment to recognize this forgotten holiday and share these adorable treats. Last year my daughter and her friend made these Turkey mini cupcakes for Thanksgiving.

They were super simple and super cute!

We used a Betty Crocker Mini Cupcake maker, a box of cake mix, mini cupcake linerscandy corn, brown food coloring, and icing– I like to make my own buttercream icing but a can of icing works too.

Prepare the cake mix as directed. Place the cupcake liners in the mini cupcake maker. Then spoon in the cupcake mix and bake for five minutes. You know they are done when you touch them with your finger and they pop back up.

Let the cupcakes cool before decorating. To decorate pipe stars on the cupcake with a Wilton tip 18. Then place three candy corn for the feathers and one candy corn for the face. Pipe with Wilton tip 3 to make two eyes.
